Services and Treatment

At the Conway Clinic for Sports Injury, we take great pride in providing the finest sports injury and chiropractic care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the different services we offer in our Wyoming office.
Sports Injury Treatment
- Functional Examinations - Dr. Conway has developed a unique functional examination in order to locate the origin of your problem. Dr. Conway believes that where you are experiencing pain is where the damage "ended," not where it began. By functionally locating that damaged area not only can he provide faster pain relief but he can correct the damaged area so that the pain doesn't return.
- MyoFascial Disruption Technique (MFDT) - A manual technique co-developed by Dr. Conway that corrects disrupted fascia. Dr. Conway has found that most end point pain areas are due to a disruption in the fascial system. Dr. Conway and his research colleagues identified six major disruptions that account for loss of motion, chronic swelling and pain. The treatment can offer pain relief in many cases after the very first treatment. (More Information Below)
- Accelerated Recovery Performance (ARP) Trainer - A specialized treatment of direct current electrical stimulation that can locate the origin of the damage allowing Dr. Conway to begin to build a treatment protocol to not only quickly eliminate pain but to correct the origin of the damage. (More Information Below)
- Chiropractic Adjustments - Dr. Conway has been offering chiropractic services for over 27 years. He has developed an 'gentle apporach' manipulation series that is effective not only to the spinal column but to the extremities as well. No rack and crack in his office Dr. Conway's takes a more deductive approach making sure each manipulation is gentle and exact.
- On Site Sports Rehabilitation - In many cases when strengthening is required Dr. Conway will custom build a daily rehabilitation protocol for each patient. This individualized rehab program is designed to assist the patient to properly better absorb force, hold position better and build the strength and endurance needed for you to perform your normal activities of daily living.
- Inertial Rehabilitation - Dr. Conway uses in many rehab cases a very specialized form of training called inertial training. Developed for the NASA program to exercise astronauts in outer space Dr. Conway has found specific application for use in rehabilitating his patients. This new technology is unique among all forms of exercise. Independent of gravity and elastic components the Impulse trains the neurological system to efficiently control acceleration and deceleration from the core out. The result is better balance, coordination, endurance, explosive power and confidence. Inertial exercise has been has been quickly recognized for its neuromuscular training superiority. It engages the body in several ways. As an physical rehab trainer, as a athletic performance trainer and provides quick results in motion and pain management when treating general disabilities.
- Custom Athletic Orthotics Fitting - Many times patients will have an instability of the pedal foundation (foot). This can cause instability, mechanical compensation and other problems that can slowly lead to injury. Dr. Conway is experienced in examining and assisting in the correction of mechanical foot disturbances.

MyoFascial Disruption Technique (MFDT)
MyoFascial Disruption Technique (MFDT) is a hands-on manual approach in treating soft tissue injuries. MFDT recognizes that most, if not all, soft tissue injuries are a result of a disruption or distortion of the fascia. [fascia - a sheet or band of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating, or binding together muscles, organs, and other soft structures of the body.] When fascia disrupts from its original position it can cause swelling, restricted range of motion and pain. Dr. Conway found that there are several types of disruptions that can lead to pain and disability. Fascial disruptions can fatigue at the origin or insertion of a tendon or ligament that attaches to a bone. It can separate deep within the muscle, in a band like separation, somewhat similar to an open zip lock bag. Fascia can ‘wrinkle’ like a wrinkled shirt pulled out from your hamper. It can also "un-coil" within the extremities like a twisted slinky toy causing numerous symptoms in your arms or legs.
All of these examples of disruption can cause pain and disability and will not be seen on an X-Ray or MRI. Dr. Conway co-developed MFDT that can repair the fascia in many different ways which will eliminate your pain. MFDT has been clinically studied and has shown to be 95% faster in eliminating all types of soft tissue injuries as compared to conventional treatments. Not unlike many other forms of 'myofascial' treatments, MFDT is a speicalized form of soft tissue treatment that has shown in clinical studies to relieve pain 95% faster than conventional treatments.
There are literally many different types of "myofascial" treatments available to patients throughout the world. Don't be mistaken, MFDT is the only myofascial type of manual treatment than can back up the claims made here. In fact, evidence based treatment has been shown in clinical studies to be 95% faster in releiving pain than all conventional treatments. Dr. Conway has pioneered the MyoFascial Disruption Technique and has lectured to doctors across the county on his treatments.
The ARPWave machine is truly revolutionary and is years before it’s time. Dr. Conway is currently one of only a handful of doctors on the east coast that has mastered the use of this machine. Dr. Conway has taken years to research and study the effects of bio-electrical treatments and apply it to athletes and non-athletes alike with amayzing results. Patients have traveled from across the country, as far as Europe, to treat with Dr. Conway for the unique results that he achieves. The results truly speak for themselves.
Dr. Bjorn Nordenstrom, one of the world's leading researchers in bio-electric medicine, in his book, "Biologically Closed Electric Circuits," provides compelling evidence that the human body is a biologically closed electrical system.
Nordenstrom proved that disease and injury cause charge to be formed in affected deep soft tissue. And for healing to occur, the charge must be eliminated, either by the body itself, or with external electrical current. If the charge of injury is not dissipated, scar tissue forms, leading to restricted range of motion which can become permanent.
Nordenstrom showed that chronic pain is often sourced in old injuries to deep soft tissue, where the charge is stored rather than released. The ARP Trainer penetrates low-voltage current deep enough into soft tissue to dissipate charge of injury without surface pain.
Traditional doctors and therapists don't always find the source of the problem when treating injured patients; they instead try and solve where the problem surfaced. So while a surgeon may repair a torn ligament and a physical therapist will rehabilitate it, they never fixed the source of the problem. “Where the patient feels the pain is not where the damage began, it’s were the damage ended up. As I say in my classes when I’m teaching other doctors from across the country, he who treats at the point of pain is a fool,” notes Dr. Conway. The ARPWAVE allows Dr. Conway to not only locate the origin of your problem but will then assist in eliminating your pain faster than you thought possible.
ARPwave and Chronic Pain:
Chronic pain can be categorized into (3) basic groups:
(1) A traumatic injury, sports injury, or surgery occurred and was not managed appropriately; A poor compensation pattern developed and over time muscles will weaken. This will place excessive force on the joints, ligaments, and tendons and so begins the degeneration process.
(2) The cumulative effects of a sedentary job and or lifestyle; Muscles will again begin to weaken and place stress the joints, ligaments, and tendons. This will wear down cartilage, disrupt ligaments and tendons, decrease joint mobility, and cause the "bone-on-bone" arthritis.
(3) Repetitive stress syndromes; This type of pain comes from repetitive activities in the work environment. No one is immune to this type of injury. It affects everyone from bank executives to factory workers. Repetitive movements cause muscular imbalances which will again cause soft tissue breakdown. A few common conditions include carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, low back pain, and plantar fasciitis.
The ARPWave is an excellent tool when it comes to medical orthopedic conditions including arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis/golf elbow, ACL and PCL knee reconstruction rehabilitation, meniscus /ligament injuries, fractures, gait abnormalities, cervical and lumbar radiculopathies (pain that travels to either arms or legs) rotator cuff tears, disc hernations, numbness in arms, feet pain, sciatica, headaches and migranes, bursitis and many other conditions.
ARPwave and Post-surgical Rehabilitation:
Surgery, even relatively minor procedures, causes changes the neuromuscular system and biomechanics. Surgery may have physically removed the injured or damaged tissue, but the poor motor patter is still present which led to the need for surgery in the first place. Specific treatment protocols are available to accelerate the rehabilitation process. Patients who have had surgery in months and even years past have seen excellent relief and strengthening with Dr. Conway and the ARPwave system.
Inertial Exercise
A new form of neuromuscular rehabilitation and performance training inertial exercise was first designed by NASA scientists to help astronauts train in deep space. What was found later on was that this actual was found to be an excellent from of rehabilitation and exercises for injured athletes.
When used in a rehab setting it can help not only accelerate injured areas but it has been also found to help prevent future injury. It has been clinically shown to
- Develop Neuromuscular Enhancement By Increasing Coordination
- Develop Explosive Anaerobic Power and Endurance
- Provide Increase Range of Motion
- Increase the Fluidity of Joint Motion
- Develop Quickness, Agility & Speed
What inertial training is all about is accentuation the acceleration and deceleration of muscles. A muscle that can turn on and off quickly and violently will not only prevent injury but will optimize sports performance. It will develop better balance, flexibility, posture, stance, core stabilization and joint mobilization. Resulting in superior motor control that leads to increase strength, speed, endurance and explosion.

"I took a shot to my knee that caused my MCL to tear. I went to see Dr. Conway two days after it happened and he had me at full range of motion within three hours. Even through words I can't quite explain how much Dr. Conway's treatments have helped me. There is nothing like it anywhere else. He is the REAL DEAL!"
